{ two -- rushed off my feet } [24 Mar 2007|06:00pm]

Wow! The last few days have been actually crazy. I've had no time to myself, no time on the internet -- this is supposed to just be a routine check of email -- and, surprisingly, I haven't missed it.

I feel like I'm living somebody else's life.

I've been reading a lot of fairy tales recently. Old ones, altered ones, modern ones. It's like coming home.

Running out in half an hour to the party of somebody I've only seen once, the friend of a friend. There'll be some people I know, but nonetheless, this time last year, I wouldn't even have dreamed of doing something like this, something this anxiety-inducing.

Doctor Who is back on in a week and just less than an hour -- that is, about ten thousand and one hundred and twenty five minutes. Joy!

It's finally spring!

The Puppy's had it in his bones for the last few days, and I suppose he's a better judge at these subtle Nature things than we are, but now his frolicking is official.

This winter's been... well, not harsh. But cold, so, so cold. There have been its warmer moments, when the sun on pale flesh is actual magic; but on the whole, it's been a "flip dark chill winter bastard though dry". In a way, it's analagous to the state of my mind these past few months, and simply the fact that things are looking up weather-wise gives me hope, something I dearly need.

I sadly missed out on really noticing the snowdrops this year, as they're not on any of my regular walks, but daffodils always catch my eye! I saw this gorgeous one on the way home -- unfortunately it had been pretty well crushed, so I took the flower head home for the Mum.

It does make one wonder though. If things like seasons, ice ages, karma, history, cars on a roundabout, can some around again and again, can things like the creation of the Earth do so? If the world is destined to be created, destroyed, re-created, destroyed, re-created, then is conservation worth the effort?

And I say that, as a bleeding heart liberal, in love with the environment!

I am in the talking mood.
